A Clearer Past

Developed as a technology test for a TV series, this project explored how AI-assisted restoration and compositing can enhance archival footage while preserving its original atmosphere and natural texture. Working with a moving Budapest street scene, our team improved image clarity, reduced visual noise and refined selected details for modern production use.

Fine-detail restoration, including challenging elements such as license plate legibility, was completed selectively for demonstration purposes rather than across the entire shot. The test validated a workflow that can be extended to full production-level restoration, including consistent detail recovery throughout the footage.
